WaterLase
When it comes to actually
preparing a tooth
for filling, the equipment we use is no longer
the drill, but new laser based technology
called WaterLase.
This device prepares teeth
for fillings using a laser energized water spray.
No vibration is felt, no heat is generated and the whine of the
drill is replaced
with a gentle popping sound. In most cases no anesthesia is required,
and if soft
tissue treatment is needed this can be done at the same time with
little or no
discomfort. In addition, WaterLase improves the overall performance
of tooth
reconstruction, provides better bonding, less tooth sensitivity
and requires less
maintenance. For more extensive procedures, the traditional drill
is still necessary,
but may not be for long.
